  78. This document contains only a brief description of the package and its
  79. features, along with instructions for its installation.  Quite detailed
  80. documentation is included in the package, but it is in archived form, and
  81. is more easily read after installation.

  83. If you've ever wished you could test your knowledge of the world of art,
  84. then THE ART QUIZ is the program for you!
  85.  
  86. This Introductory Module includes all features of the program, and is
  87. not crippled in any way. We hope that you will enjoy playing it.  You can
  88. continue to do so for as long as you like, there are no restrictions on
  89. it.  However to enjoy THE ART QUIZ to its full, we recommend that you
  90. register and purchase the full version: THE ART QUIZ - Module 1, which
  91. contains around 2000 questions and answers, along with pictures of famous
  92. paintings, portraits of famous artists, and views of art galleries,
  93. well-known cities, etc. (To register, see 'Register' in the Help
  94. pull-down menu in the game).

  96. Once you have become a Registered (Paid)  User, you will be able to
  97. obtain further modules, each containing around 2000 questions and
  98. answers, which can be placed in the same directory, and played alongside
  99. THE ART QUIZ - Module 1.

  161. THE ART QUIZ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:-

  163. The program requires Windows 3.1+ or Windows 95
  164.  
  165. The installation procedure is quite simple.  The package includes a
  166. program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the entire process.  You will need
  167. about 3Mb of available disk space on the hard drive on which you plan to
  168. install THE ART QUIZ.
  169.  
  170. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received THE ART
  171. QUIZ.
  172.  
  173. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  174.  
  175. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  176.  
  177.    o  Place THE ART QUIZ distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  178.       appropriate diskette drive.
  179.  
  180.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  181.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  182.       the MS-DOS command, "a:setup".
  183.  
  184.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  185.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  186.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  187.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  188.       the THE ART QUIZ files to that directory. If you so direct it, the
  189.       installation program will install executable programs and
  190.       documentation in other directories of your choice.  It will make
  191.       no other changes; specifically, it will not modify your
  192.       autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  195. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE

  197. If you downloaded THE ART QUIZ from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  198. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  199. following steps.

  201.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  202.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  203.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  204.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  205.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  206.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  207.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  208.       the package.
